La Mata Lova

Seconda birra degustata dal nuovo birrificio romagnolo La Mata. Lova è una strong ale d’ispirazione belga, Colore ambrato chiaro, schiuma fine, cremosa, bianca, buona persistenza. Aroma fruttato con agrumi ma anche sentori di pesca e di fiori. In bocca riscontriamo un po’ gli stessi difetti trovati nella “Mora” assaggiata poco tempo fa: gusto poco “pulito”. Appena percepibili i malti, leggera tostatura, un po’ di amaro erbaceo, ma anche lieviti che la rendono una birra davvero “pesante” da bere nonostante l’alcool /8%) sia tutto sommato ben nascosto. Retrogusto un po’ amaro, erbaceo, con qualche nota alcolica che riscalda. C’è ancora molto da lavorare, insomma. Formato: 50 cl., ABV: 8%, lotto: 003/10, scad.: 12/2011, prezzo: 5 €

Belgian Stron Ale from new Italian micro craftbrewery La Mata. Light amber color with a creamy white head. Fruity nose with citrus and peach, some flowers as well. Taste is not very clean; we can barely taste the slightly roasted malts, some grassy hops and an excessive yeast presence that is making this beer not easy drinkable. Slightly grassy bitter aftertaste with some warm alcohol. Looks like a beer which still needs to be improved. 50 cl. bottle, ABV 8%, 5 €
