english summary:
Brewery: Birrificio Dada, Correggio, Reggio Emilia, Italy.
Style: Imperial IPA
Appearance: murky amber with a small creamy off-white head. Aroma: fresh piney hops and lots of tropical fruits such as mango, pineapple, passion fruit. Mouthfeel: full body, medium carbonation, oily texture. Taste: at the beginning there’s more sweet tropical fruits, followed by a huge resinous spicy hoppy bitterness. The backbone is biscuit malt; finish is fairly dry and zesty; there’s a long bitter resinous aftertaste, warm and alcoholic, with a tropical fruit touch. Overall: a beer to celebrate the brewery’s 100th brew, which comes in 623 bottles only. Deliberately “extreme”, this Imperial IPA can’t obviously stand comparison to the best American examples. Even if still rough and not completely clean, this “La 100” is however a very solid and very good brew. You wouldn’t normally drink this every day, but definitely one to try on a special occasion. Bottle: 33 cl., 9% ABV, 100 IBUs, batch H1001, BBE 06/2013, price 6.60 Euro.
