Purity Pure UBU

Difficile lasciarla sugli scaffali questa Pure UBU, brassata dalla Purity Brewing di Alcester, Warwickshire, Etichetta molto accattivante, dedicata al cane del birrificio UBU (si pronuncia proprio così, all’italiana) che viene ritratto sulla “label”. Una bitter brassata con malti English Maris Otter, Crystal e Black e con luppoli Challenger e Cascade, di uno splendido colore ambrato, appena velato. La schiuma, leggermente ocra, è fine e cremosa, persistente. Naso caldo e dolce ma poco pronunciato, con sentori di caramello, di frutti di bosco rossi; si avverte anche una leggerissima terrosità. Scarsamente carbonata, ha copro leggero e “watery”. In bocca risaltano i malti, con note di toffee, di malto tostato, ed erbacee. L’imbocco è un po’ troppo watery e non molto promettente, ma la birra migliora sensibilmente in corsa, lasciando un bel retrogusto amaricante, caldo, erbaceo e tostato che non ti aspetteresti. Gusto pulito, alta bevibilità, tutto sommato una bitter discreta. Bottiglia: 50 cl., alc. 4.5%, lotto 10350, bb. 16/12/2011, prezzo 2.76 Eur.
