BrewDog Riptide

Nera, ampia schiuma beige, compatta e cremosa. Una imperial stout che sorprende subito, con un naso inaspettatamente luppolato (fiori, erbe) assieme a caramello e leggeri sentori di tostatura. Il corpo è medio, come la carbonatazione. Il gusto, decisamente amaro, ci riporta su percorsi più familiari, con malti tostati, caffè, qualche nota di cioccolato ed alcool. Termina con un lungo retrogusto amaro, dove troviamo un'equilibrata alternanza tra tostature e note erbacee. Riptide è una birra un po' spiazzante; ti aspetteresti tostature, caffè e cioccolato a dosi massiccie ma è quasi il luppolo ad avere il privilegio di caratterizzarla. Una buona imperial stout, anche se ne abbiamo assaggiate decisamente di migliori. Bottiglia da 33 cl., ABV 8%, batch 203.
