BrewDog Punk IPA

Uno degli ultimi lotti prodotti nel 2009, con ABV 6%. A partire da Gennaio 2010, la ricetta della Punk IPA è stata modificata con l'utilizzo di un diverso mix di luppoli ed un ABV ridotto al 5.4%. Oro pallido, forma un generoso cappello di schiuma bianca, compatta, non molto fine ma persistente. L'aroma è pungente, con agrumi in primo piano, pino e qualche sentore più dolce di frutta tropicale. In bocca scorre molto bene grazie ad un corpo medio-leggero, rivelando però una carbonatazione un po' troppo elevata. I luppoli (Chinook, Crystal, Motoeka) caratterizzano anche il gusto, pungente ed amaro (68 IBU) con note di pino e pompelmo; malti quasi impercettibili. Molto secca, si congeda da noi lasciando un lungo retrogusto amaro, resinoso, erbaceo. Una India Pale Ale dal nome indovinato; rude, pungente al naso ed in bocca, volutamente squilibrata, colpisce abbastanza duro. Buona, non si lascia bere proprio benissimo, e richiede un po' di calma. Imperdibili le descrizioni punkeggianti dell'etichetta. Bottiglia da 33 cl., lotto 320, scadenza 10/2011, 3.20 €.

First Punk Ipa version from Brewdog, which modified the recipe at the beginning of 2010 lowering ABV from 6 to 5.4% and changing the hops mix. Pale golden color with a big fluffy white head. Crisp strong hoppy aroma with citrus, pine and some sweet tropical fruits. Medium-light bodied, carbonation is on the high side. Hoppy (Chinook, Crystal, Motoeka) biting bitter taste with pine and grapefruit; malt is almost absent. Very dry feeling, long bitter hoppy aftertaste with resin and grass. Properly named, Punk IPA is quite harsh and punching. Not really balanced, tastes good but it's not easy drinkable as it would seem.
