Chimay Bleue

Bottiglia 2007. Formato: 33 cl., ABV: 9%, lotto: 07-563, scad.: 02/2012.

english summary:
Murky brown reddish color with a beige creamy head. In the nose, beautiful and rich aroma of roasted malts, sugar, toffee, fruits (cherries, plums, banana), spices. Very rounded and smooth mouthfeeling. Full bodied. Fruits, roasted malts, licorice, pepper and other spices in the taste. Finish is tannic dry, slight bitter aftertaste with pepper and warm alcohol. We can’t say if Chimay - as some Belgian experts say - is today just a fainted memory of what it used to be. To us it still is a very good classic, which every beer lover should always store in the cellar to appreciate the effect of aging.
