Green Flash West Coast IPA

Nel bicchiere è ambrata, velata. La schiuma color ocra è fine, cremosa e persistente. Il naso è un po’ stanco, ma percepiamo comunque sentori di pompelmo, pino e dolci di frutta tropicale. In bocca un veloce imbocco di malto è seguito da un forte amaro vegetale e resinoso. Quasi completamente assente la componente “fruttata”. Corpo e carbonatazione media, termina con un retrogusto molto amaro, erbaceo e resinoso ma abbastanza morbido nel quale i 95 IBU si fanno sentire tutti. Difficile giudicare una bottiglia che sembra aver patito i troppi passaggi di mano lasciando per strada praticamente tutta la sua freschezza del mix dei luppoli (tra gli altri, sono stati usati Simcoe, Columbus, Centennial e Cascade). Aroma e gusto quasi completamente privi di quei freschi sentori floreali e fruttati che dovrebbero caratterizzare questa IPA West Coast. Da riprovare in condizioni migliori, peccato. Hazy orange amber color with a creamy off-white head. Some light grapefruit, pine and sweet tropical fruits in the nose. Taste is first malty followed by a deep vegetal and resinous bitterness. There’s basically no fruity character. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Long and very bitter, grassy, resinous aftertaste. We got a bottle which has clearly suffered a lot from importers and distributors treatments. Hard to properly judge a West Coast IPA that has lost most of its fresh, flowery and fruity character. 355 ml. bottle, 7.3% ABV, 95 IBUs, 5 €
