Abbiamo faticato per trovare notizie su questa birra. L’etichetta indica come produttore un’inesistente Brasserie de St. Malo, ma dovrebbe essere realmente stata brassata dalla Brasserie Artisanale des Rempart che si trova invece a Dinan, nell’entroterra a circa 30 km. da Saint Malo. Birra creata su commissione di Francois Bertrand per varare nell’aprile 2010 il varo del veliero “La Malouine” raffigurato in etichetta. Velata, di colore ambrato; schiuma ocra, fine e cremosa. Al naso sentori floreali e caramello. In bocca domina il malto, con note tostate e di frutta secca a fine corsa. Il corpo è leggero, la carbonatazione modesta. Finale abboccato, con una leggera nota erbacea a chiudere. Una bière de garde dal gusto non pulitissimo, discreta. Formato 33 cl., alc. 6.5%, prezzo 2.80 €.

Des Remparts Nuit Blanche

Inauguriamo con questa Nuit Blanche una lunga serie di degustazione di birre francesi. La Brasserie Artisanale des Remparts si trova poco fuori Dinan, splendida località nell’entroterra della Bretagna che ha conservato praticamente intatto il suo nucleo storico medievale. Colore ambrato/arancio, torbida, cappello di schiuma bianca, fine, poco persistente che non lascia pizzo nel bicchiere. Aroma di agrumi (arancio), spezie (coriandolo) ed altre note fruttate. Corpo leggero, alta carbonatazione. Watery in bocca ed abbastanza sfuggente, leggero gusto di cereali, arancio e spezie. Finisce secca con un retrogusto leggermente luppolato ed amaro. Classificata come biere de garde da Ratebeer, è in realtà – come il nome suggerisce – una blanche molto acquosa e sfuggente, gusto gradevole ma molto poco memorabile. Bottiglia da 75 cl., ABV 5%, 4.70 €.

Palate is quite watery, a light flavor of cereals, orange and spices. Dry finish with a shy bitter hoppy aftertaste.
