Chapelle Northmaen Ambrée

La loro Brune non ci aveva colpito particolarmente e neppure questa “Ambrèe” della Brasserie La Chapelle (Normandia) ci entusiasma; nel bicchiere è di color rame, velato. La schiuma bianca, fine e cremosa, mediamente persistente. Naso quasi assente, a fatica si riesce a percepire un po’ di caramello e qualche sentori di miele d’acacia. Ratebeer la defiisce una “biere de garde” ma in bocca arriva molto, troppo leggera, senza quella predominanza di malti che ci si aspetterebbe dallo stile. Qualche nota di tostatura, un leggero finale erbaceo amaricante a chiudere. Bevibile, tutto qui. Formato: 75 cl., alc. 5%, lotto sconosciuto, scad. 12/2020, prezzo 4.50 €.

Chapelle Northmaen Brune

Prodotta dalla Brasserie de La Chapelle (La Chapelle Saint-Ouen, Alta Normandia). Il colore è un bel marrone scuro con dei riflessi rubino; schiuma ocra non molto fine, cremosa e abbastanza persistente. Aroma molto dolce con caramello, melassa, leggeri sentori di malto tostato. In bocca troviamo anche note di caffè e di cioccolato, in un insieme non troppo pulito che tende però a naufragare nell’acquosità del finale. Leggera in bocca, e watery al palato, scorre molto velocemente in bocca lasciando un retrogusto breve ed abboccato dove appaiono timide note di polvere di cacao. Birra beverina ma dalla persistenza troppo scarsa che unita ad un gusto poco pulito la rende poco memorabile. Formato: 33 cl., alc. 6%, lotto 1, scad. 06/2020 (!!), prezzo 2.50 €.

Very dark brown color with ruby hues, topped with a creamy tanned head. Aroma is really sweet with lots of caramel and treacle; hints of roasted malts. It is a quite light beer with a watery texture. In addition to caramel, taste is also featuring notes of coffee and chocolate. Taste is not very clean, and there’s really too much water in the finish. A bittersweet aftertaste with cocoa powder doesn’t improve a beer we have already forgotten. Bottle: 33 cl., 6% ABV, batch 1, bb. 06/2020
